Former Colchester and Norwich man out to impress in pre-season training.

Steve Davis has admitted that the experienced David Fox could be a ‘good fit’ for his young squad but he also has other midfield options on his priority list. The Alex boss revealed earlier in the week that Fox is training with us as he continues his search for a new club after leaving Colchester United in the summer. Steve also admitted that Fox is one of nine potential transfer targets on the club’s radar.

Steve told crewealex.net: “David’s family is based in Manchester so he is looking to get back up north if he can. He asked if he could come in and train to keep his fitness levels up and it gives a chance to have a good look at him as well.

“We’ll see where it goes. He is one of a number we are considering and he could be a good fit with the experience he has. I spoke to him a number of weeks ago and he is a good lad.

“He has been good around the younger lads in the squad and it will just depend if he is the one we are really looking for. There are others to consider as well, so we will have a look at him over the next few weeks and see what happens.”
