Steve Davis pleased to have added more experience to his relatively young squad.
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that the signing of David Fox will add some needed experience to his dressing room. The former Manchester United trainee signed a one-year deal with the club yesterday and instantly became our oldest player at 31.
Fox is now set to make his first appearance for the club in one of this weekend’s friendly encounter at Newcastle Town on Friday or Nantwich Town on Sunday.
Davis, who has also signed Billy Bingham and Adam King to form a new-look midfield told crewealex.net: “David brings a lot of experience and has played at the top level. He is a great lad around the place and I am sure he will help the younger lads in the squad.
“It was important to bring in some more experienced players and David certainly has great experience.
“He was in League One last season with Colchester United and they made him a good offer to stay there and although he had a successful year with them, he wanted to move on.
“Moving back to North West will suit him better because of his young family but that wasn’t the main reason why he wanted to come here. He has lots to offer and technically he fits our DNA and that is something we have tried to do with all three of the midfield signings.”
