Crewe Sign Midfielder Billy Bingham

6 July 2015

Alex make first signing of the summer as former Dagger arrives at Gresty Road.

Central midfield player Billy Bingham has become Crewe Alexandra’s first permanent signing of the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the club after leaving Dagenham and Redbridge this summer.

The Welling-born midfielder began his youth career at West Ham and then Crystal Palace where he turned professional, but Billy switched to Dagenham in 2009 after failing to make a first-team appearance for the Eagles. Bingham went on to make 131 appearances for Dagenham in all competitions, scoring eight goals. He helped the Daggers seal promotion to League One in 2010 through the play-offs with victory over Rotherham but they were subsequently relegated a year later.

Earlier in his career, Bingham also spent a brief time on loan at Sutton United and Grays Athletic.

Last season Bingham scored four goals in 37 appearances in League Two.
