Bingham: "I'm Delighted To Have Signed"

6 July 2015

Steve Davis's first summer signing Billy Bingham talks to Crewe Alex PlayerHD.

Billy Bingham has told Crewe Alex PlayerHD that he is delighted to have arrived in South Cheshire as part of Steve Davis’ new look midfield. The former West Ham and Crystal Palace youth player has signed on a two-year deal after he decided to leave Dagenham after six seasons with the London club.

After committing his future to Crewe, Bingham, 24, told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “I am delighted to sign and I am excited to be playing League One football for a club like Crewe. I now need to push on and I am really looking forward to the challenge.

“I spent six years at Dagenham and they made me who I am really. I love to play football the right way and pass the ball and they did the other side of things as well. They have given me the foundation to go on in my career and sign for Crewe and I have nothing but kind words for everyone there.

“I just felt it was the right time to move on and once I met the manager (Steve Davis) and the assistant manager (Neil Baker) I knew that Crewe was the right place. I love to play football and I know Crewe is renowned for passing the ball, so that helped me make the right decision.

He added: “I am a week behind the others in terms of fitness but I will work hard and make sure I have the fitness in the bank for the first game of the season. I know I can push on here. It is a young group but training with them today has shown me how good they are. They don’t shy away from the ball, want to get on the ball and pass it and that is what my game is about.”
