John Johnston and Callum Prichard will leave the club after not having their contracts renewed


Crewe Alexandra Football Club will not be renewing the contracts of squad players John Johnston and Callum Prichard-Ellis after their current deals expired on 1st January 2015.



Vanarama Conference side Alfreton Town on loan in November.  Winger Johnston signed from non-league Leek Town in January 2014, but was instantly loaned back to the Staffordshire club as they contested the promotion play-offs. The 20-year-old returned to Crewe to play a bit-part in pre-season and for the club’s Under-21s but with first-team chances limited he was allowed to join Nicky Law’s


Johnston was named on the substitutes’ bench for the away game at Crawley Town back in early November but he never made a first-team appearance for the Railwaymen.


Prichard-Ellis was handed a short-term professional contract after having his scholarship greatly affected by injury.The Ellesmere Port based forward signed an initial six-month contract after returning from a serious knee injury.


Prichard-Ellis joined the club as an 8-year-old and spent time on loan at Alsager Town and Northwich Fixton Villa this season.
