We Have A Point To Prove Against Dons

28 January 2015

Steve Davis says Crewe are better equipped to upset outstanding Dons this weekend

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is confident that his in-form side will certainly give MK Dons more of a game than we managed to do at stadium:mk back in September. Crewe suffered their biggest defeat of the season with Dele Alli hitting a hat-trick in an emphatic 6-1 win.

Crewe had no answer to the Dons’ relentless pressure and Davis admits that his side showed Karl Robinson’s impressive side far too much respect on the day. Crewe have improved considerably since that trip to Milton Keynes and Davis believes his side will be a different proposition this weekend at the Alexandra Stadium.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The MK Dons are the best side we faced this season and we showed them too much respect down there.

“We stood off them too much and let them play the way they wanted and they took full advantage. We admired them too much but I think we are a much better team now.

“We have improved and go into the game this weekend in much better form. We are joint second in the form table at the moment and we want to give them a much better game. I’m sure Karl will be expecting that from us.

He added: “We know that the MK Dons have a fantastic group of players and they are a very good side. They are one of the favourites to go up this season and we will have to play well to beat them but we can raise our game against the top sides. We showed against Bristol City that we fancy our chances against anyone when the majority of our players are playing to their full potential.”
