George Ray still missing for weekend fixture after Boxing Day fixture

Defender George Ray is suspended for this weekend’s visit of Gillingham. The Wales Under-21 International is serving the second game of his suspension following his dismissal for a professional foul at Oldham Athletic on Boxing Day.

Ray was handed one extra game because of his previous sending off against Sheffield United.

With Adam Dugdale (knee) also struggling to be fit for the club’s game of 2015, Jon Guthrie is expected to deputise at the back.

Crewe will have to sign Anthony Stewart this week if he is to face the Gills as his loan deal from Wycombe Wanderers expires this week.
