Lauri Fit And Available

Finnish hit-man could be back for weekend clash with the Gills

Lauri Dalle Valle has shaken off his ankle injury to declare himself fit and available for the weekend visit of Gillingham. Dalle Valle has frustratingly has had to put his 'second' debut on hold after going over on his ankle in training just days after signing on an 18-month contract.

The Finnish striker played 90 minutes for the club’s Under-21 side at Sheffield Wednesday yesterday and came through unscathed.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “Lauri played the full game for the Under-21s and he came through that.

“He was lively and sharp without scoring and it was more about him developing that match sharpness. He is a fit lad anyway but he is just a bit short of game time.

“He looks fine and he is back in contention. He will train with us on Thursday with a view with him being involved at the weekend. It has been a frustrating time for him but it was an accident and these things can happen in football.

The boss added: “We haven’t really had a chance to see him because of the unfortunate set-back but we are all looking forward to having him with us and to working with him again.”
