Winger moves to Conference side after impressive loan spell
The Stoke-on-Trent born John Johnston has signed for Alfreton Town on an 18-month contract following his release from Crewe Alexandra on New Years’ Day. Johnston has impressed during a loan spell with the Reds and they quickly moved to sign the winger on a permanent deal after his contract was not extended at the Alex.
Although Johnston, 20, was named on the substitutes’ bench for this season’s trip to Crawley Town, he never made a senior appearance for the club.
He previously returned to his former club Leek Town for a loan spell to end the last campaign before moving to the Vanarma Conference side Alfreton Town on loan in November 2014.
Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to wish John every success with his future.
