Crewe complete the signing of the Derby County keeper Ross Etheridge on loan

Crewe Alexandra have signed Derby County’s young goalkeeper Ross Etheridge on a one-month youth loan deal. Etheridge, 20 joins the club on the same day that our non-contact player Joe Anyon has moved to League One rivals Scunthorpe United.

After progressing through the Academy ranks at Pride Park, Etheridge has been a regular performer for Lee Glover’s Under-21 side.

Derby kindly permitted the promising goalkeeper to train and trial with Crewe before we decided to take him on an extended deal and he has impressed enough to earn himself a short term youth deal.

  In search of first-team football the Rams Academy product has also enjoyed successful loan spells at Ilkeston Town, Gresley and Leek Town.

Etheridge will offer cover and competition to Crewe Alexandra’s number one Ben Garratt.
