Duggy’s Emotional Alex Exit

Defender admits heart-breaking decision to leave

Adam Dugdale paid a tribute to the Crewe Alexandra fans and staff after leaving the Club this week following five years at the Club.

Duggy came to an agreement with the Club to terminate his contract, and he has since signed for Tranmere Rovers.

Talking about his departure, Duggy said: “I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by all the messages I’ve received, I can’t thank the fans enough.

“It was emotional and I’m proud that, after five years, not one was negative. I had a great relationship with them and I’ll never forget their support when we lost Jude.

“I’ll take only fond memories and I hope I repaid everyone with my performances and achievements in an Alex shirt.

“I was so fortunate to work with him [Dario] every day and I’ll be forever grateful to him and John Bowler. I’d like the wish Steve and Neil, all the staff and the lads all the very best.

“Maybe I’ll come back one day in a coaching role. I’d love that.”

Upon signing for Tranmere Rovers, Dugdale took to Twitter to say: “It is official I have signed for Tranmere Rovers. I’m delighted to have joined the club… look forward to the challenge ahead.

“Massive thank you to everybody at Crewe and to all the fans for your support to me over the past 5 seasons.

“I leave the club with only fond memories and have met some great people along the way… wish you all the best for the rest of the season!”
