Cooper could feature against Bolton this evening
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has once again given permission for 18-year-old George Cooper to be available for the club’s Youth team. Cooper played and scored in the previous round win over last season’s finalists Fulham and although he is still very much part of the first-team plans here at the club, the Warrington-born forward was eager to feature in the competition again.
Alex Morris’ Under-18 side host Bolton Wanderers in the fourth round of the Youth Cup this evening at Gresty Road and Cooper is certainly an option.

Cooper did feature for the club’s Under-21s on Monday against Barnsley and he has been closely monitored by Morris and his support staff as they finalise their starting XI to face Bolton.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “George actually came to me and asked if he can play in the Youth Cup. He played in the last round against Fulham and was keen to do that again.
“He did play a part for the Under-21s on Monday but he had a recovery day yesterday and he didn’t do anything intense.
“George enjoys playing with the players he has come through with and I am sure he will be looking forward to it again if selected.”
