Former Port Vale Keeper links up with the Alex

Crewe Alexandra have signed free agent goalkeeper Joe Anyon on non-contract terms after the stopper was released by Shrewsbury Town in the summer.

The 28-year-old started his career at Port Vale, making over 115 appearances for the Valiants from 2004-2010 before he joined Lincoln.

The stopper signed a two-year deal at the Shrews in 2012, but has been without a Club since leaving the Greenhous Meadow.

Anyon is available for tomorrow's trip to Notts County and is likely to feature against 1874 Northwich in the Cheshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
