Steve: "Looking Forward To Different Challenge"

13 February 2015

Alex face Fleetwood at home for the first time this weekend

Steve Davis is obviously delighted with the return of six points from our last two matches against Colchester and Yeovil, but the Alex boss quickly moved on to the new challenge of Fleetwood. The Cod Army arrive in South Cheshire for the first time in their history this weekend and Davis is confident that if his in-form side can play to their potential again then there is no reason why they cannot get anything from the game.

The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “We have two good performances and two great results against teams that are down there with us. Now we quickly move on and face a different challenge against Fleetwood.

“They have done extremely well this season and still have a really good chance of getting into the top six still, so we know it will be a tough game. They come here on the back of a great win at Barnsley on Tuesday night.

“We are a different side that played at Fleetwood on the opening day of the season and after back-to-back wins, the players are looking forward to it. When you are on a decent run then the players cannot wait for the next game to come around.

“There are still plenty of points to play for and from the top four down, it is still very tight in this league. I set the players the task of trying to drag a few more teams into it and they have managed to do that. Now we have to keep on pushing on.”
