Steve: "A Very Professional Performance"

14 February 2015

Davis delighted as his Crewe side win their third match on the bounce

"Ben Garratt had to remain alert and I said to him at half time that his concentration and ability to make those two saves have kept us in the game. His concentration was very good and he dealt with everything. We restricted them to efforts from long-range in the second half and that gave us the basis to be more creative and take those two chances to win the game. "

"Although it was a battle at times, we have come through it and got another three points and I'm delighted with them because it was a really professional performance from us.

"They had a a lot of possession at times but that was more in front of us. They didn't get in behind us too many times and I was pleased with another clean-sheet. It was a game of few chances and that is what we wanted. We didn't want them to have too many opportunities and kept our shape and they did that. It was a tight game but our strikers combined for the second goal and Jamie Ness created the first for Nicky. It was an excellent pass.

After a fine 2-0 win over Graham Alexander's Cod Army, The Alex boss told the club's official web-site: "It has been a great week and we wanted to finish it well. We have managed to do that and it is another great win for us after the victories we managed to get against Colchester and Yeovil. That is three wins on the bounce and I thought we deserved it. I thought we controlled much of the game and restricted them to just one or two chances.

Steve Davis was delighted his side's all round performance as a 2-0 victory over Fleetwood Town saw us record our third win in a week. The Alex boss was pleased with another clean-sheet and the fact that both his strikers were on target in a deserved win.
