Scott Shearer frustrated at lack of first team chances at Burton

.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he understands Scott Shearer’s frustration at not playing at Burton Albion, but says that the on-loan goalkeeper will have to work his way into Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s plans

Shearer, 33, joined the League Two outfit at the beginning of the transfer window but he is yet to make an appearance for the Brewers. The in-form Jon McLaughlan is keeping the Scottish-born goalkeeper on the sidelines.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I can understand Scott’s frustration because he went to Burton to play games. That hasn’t happened for him and he is in the same situation there as he was here.

He added: “McLaughlan has played well and the team are in-form so it is difficult for Jimmy to leave him out. That’s football and Scott will have to bide his time and try and work his way into the team. It is no different from his time here with us when he found himself behind Ben (Garratt).”
