Our Thoughts Quickly Turned To Yeovil

9 February 2015

Alex boss says he and his staff didn't bask in the glory on the way home with Glovers just around the corner

Steve Davis says that whilst he didn’t dwell too much on the 5-0 defeat by the MK Dons the previous week, he didn’t consider Saturday’s 3-2 win over Colchester too much either! The Alex boss possesses the important trait of not getting too low when we lose or getting overly high when we win.

After enjoying the journey home from Essex with another three points in the bag, the Alex boss says his attention quickly turned to Yeovil Town, who arrive in South Cheshire tomorrow night. The Alex boss knows the games are coming thick and fast for his Alex side and he is targeting another victory against the Glovers on Tuesday evening.

Steve told “It was a great win for us on Saturday but we quickly move on, much in the same way we did against the MK Dons. You enjoy the journey home and your Saturday night but more or less on the Sunday morning, you are planning for the next one.

“We were preparing for Yeovil pretty quickly. We were talking about who is available on the trip back up and planning ahead.

“We will look at the opposition and plan our tactics accordingly. Win or lose, it is important to quickly get on with things and start to influence the next game instead of dwelling on the last one.”
