Ness Set The Example

Boss says players showing they are prepared to put their bodies on their line

Steve Davis has praised his players’ attitude as they try to more away from the relegation drop zone. The Alex boss used the example of the on-loan Jamie Ness from the visit to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening.

The on-loan midfielder from our neighbours Stoke City played the full 90 minutes at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening despite suffering with a virus that lasted for 48 hours.

The Alex boss is delighted that the attitude of Ness and other members of his squad who played with slight knocks, showed the spirit and desire of the players going into the final stretch of the season.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Nessy had a virus on Tuesday and he did well to start the game never mind finish it.

“We had one or two who had knocks but they wanted to be out there. They wanted to play and help the club and their team-mates and that’s terrific.

“It shows the spirit amongst the players. None of them are ducking out of things and they are prepared to put their bodies on line for the cause. That is a real positive to take forward.”
