Uche going to Doncaster re-opened the door for Haber to grab his chance
Steve Davis has encouraged his Canadian forward Marcus Haber to continue to show an improvement in his form and grab his chance in the wake of Uche Ikpeazu's departure to Doncaster Rovers. Ikpeazu could face his former club this evening after returning from a slight hamstring problem to train this week.
Steve said of his in-form target man: “Marcus has played well and grabbed his chance. He has been doing really well ever seen Uche arrived on loan really. He knew he had a fresh challenge with him coming in and there was a step-up in his performances.
“Uche then left for Doncaster and there was an opportunity for him to get back into the team. He has worked hard and grabbed that chance. He has to keep that going now.
“Those who are out of team have to understand that their chance could come at any time and they have to be ready for it. It may take an injury, suspension or a tactical change for it to happen, when the players ahead of them are playing well and winning games, but it change very quickly.
He added: “Marcus has been an example of that and he has to keep that consistency going.”
