Davis: "Hard Work Will Turn It Around"

27 February 2015

Steve Davis says his players have the work ethic to turn results around again

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that sheer hard work will get the Alex back on track. The Railwaymen have seen a fairly consistent run of results come to an end with successive away defeats to Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley, but Davis is confident that his team can start to pick up points soon enough.

Crewe face promotion chasing Swindon Town this weekend at Gresty Road but Davis feels that if we can play to our potential then we can acquire something against the third placed team in League One.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture, Steve told us: “Despite our last two results, everyone has remained positive because we have been on a great run.

“We have to try and get back to the way we had been playing before. No-one was pleased with the two second half performances at Doncaster and Barnsley. We will get to where we were through hard work.

“The players know they didn’t play to the same level we have been previously and the trick is to get back playing well, individually and then collectively.

He added: “Everyone has worked hard this week, we have gone through a lot of things and reiterated things to them. We have looked at set-plays, our organisation and becoming more of a threat from them as well assessing it defensively. “
