Boss Not Ruling Out Movement

Steve says club could be in market for loan player or free agent

The emergency loan market re-opens today and boss Steve Davis has not ruled doing more business if necessary. The Alex boss was a little unfortunate to miss out on a potential deadline day signing with a striker electing to join another League One club instead because of location.

The Alex boss has thrown down the gauntlet to the other strikers in his squad to battle it out for the starting place alongside his ‘automatic choice’ Nicky Ajose. The on-loan Leeds man has been in terrific form with his seven goals so far for us this season.

Davis has told the club’s official web-site that if they can the right player to strength the team then he has the full support of the club’s board of directors.

Steve told crewealex.net: “The loan market re-opens today and I’ve not ruled out doing something. If we can find that right player, who could straight in to the team and improve us then we would do it. It is finding that right player.

“If we do find him then I know I have the backing of John (Bowler) and the board. They have been brilliant with that ever since I came into the job. Whenever I have come to them with a player they have always gone out of their way to do financially.”
