Ajose Looks Forward To Fleetwood First

13 February 2015

Nicky Ajose looks forward to facing the Cod Army for the first time in his career

On-loan striker Nicky Ajose will be facing Fleetwood Town for the first time in his professional career tomorrow. Ajose, who took his personal tally to eight for the season with the winning goal on Tuesday night, is looking forward to getting back out there and hopefully score the goals that will see the Alex picking up some more points.

Ajose has been in exceptional form in front of goal and says that he will keep getting in key positions to hurt the opposition with his movement and finishing capabilities.

Ajose told Crewe Alex Player: “I haven’t played Fleetwood before in my professional career so do that for the first time is something for me personally. As a team we are confident and are looking forward to the game.

“Fleetwood have stepped into this league and done really well. In what is developing into a really tight league they are in and around the play-offs, so we know it will be a tough game. If we can play like we have been doing in the last two games then we have a good chance of getting something. If we are not on our game, like we when we struggled against the MK Dons then it will tough.

“It didn’t matter that it was MK Dons that day. We would have struggled against the bottom of the table playing like we did. If are not on it at this level then you are punished.

“We have picked up and given ourselves a chance of moving up the table and we have to look to keep that going. We want to finish as high as we can but the first priority is to move away from the bottom and make sure we are safe.”
