Steve Davis says the form of some of our younger players is sure to have attracted scouts to Gresty Road.
Steve Davis says he wouldn’t be surprised if some of his talented youngsters have not caught the eye of scouts of bigger clubs. The Alex boss has had no contact from clubs regarding the availability of the likes of goalkeeper Ben Garratt, midfielder James Jones or forward Ryan Colclough in regards to January, but he believes that they could be on the radar of other clubs.
Crewe have struggled at the wrong end of the League One table this season, but Garratt has continued to make crucial saves and Colclough has hit six goals, including many top class finishes.
Jones has recently returned from a shoulder injury and his improved physique has made him a vital part of our midfield engine room.
Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “You never know what can happen in January and I’ve had no managers on to me about any of our players but that could change when the window opens.
“I am sure that some of our players are on the radar of other clubs. I think that some of them are capable of stepping up but they just have to keep on playing well and looking to improve.
“I’m sure there are scouts from bigger clubs looking at our players and other players in League One, because there are some good players at this level.
“Jonah has come back in and done well for us. He is a talented player and wants to get better. He is a talented player but he knows he can add more goals to his game and become more aggressive in his play.
He added: “He has used the time he had out wisely to work on his physique. He has become stronger and more robust. He is coping better with bigger opponents now and if he can add that edge to his game and create and score more goals then there is no reason why he cannot step up in the future.”
