Crewe boss on Keith Hill's Dale.
Steve Davis admits that a visit to Spotland is always a difficult place to visit and he will be looking to improve Crewe’s record against Rochdale. The Railwaymen lost three times to Keith Hill’s side last season and haven’t won away at Spotland since November 1992.
Steve will be looking to put that hoodoo to bed on Boxing Day and take Crewe to 23 points at the half way stage of the season.
Ahead of the festive period, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Going to Rochdale is always a tough place to go and they have been something of a bogey team for us. There will be no better time to end that than on Boxing Day.
“Keith has put a few of his own young players in this season and as we know that can sometimes breed inconsistency but he has a nice blend there with the likes of Henderson and Vincenti offering good experience.
“Keith has stuck with his younger ones and they are doing okay. They are a tough side to play again. Keith has them playing with a great energy and flexibility. It makes them difficult to play against because they rotate very well.
He added: “We will prepare right and make sure we are ready for the challenge. We need to match their work ethic. We did that against Fleetwood last week and managed to grind out a result, so that is what we will be looking to do again.”
