Steve Davis says Lowe showed composed with his finish but we lacked intent in second attack.
Steve Davis says Ryan Lowe showed great composure to give us an early lead against Fleetwood Town at the weekend but the Alex boss was disappointed that we could not build on that advantage.
Fleetwood hit back just five minutes later with David Ball drilling a shot past Ben Garratt and into the roof of the net. That is the way it remained over the next 80+ minutes with Garratt making two outstanding saves in the second half to secure us a point.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan scored a terrific goal for us. It was a fantastic finish and shows the quality he has. He didn’t need a lot of time or space to tuck it into the corner because he knew what we wanted to do when the ball dropped down from Marcus (Haber).
“It was a really composed finish from Ryan and he showed that level of composure that we were probably lacking in other areas. That is what he is about and what he brings to the forward line.
He added: “He gave us the perfect start after five minutes and it should have settled us down but we couldn’t build on that because we conceded five minutes later. We didn’t stay ahead long enough to build on the start we had.”
