Players Are Eager To Bounce Back

15 December 2015

Steve Davis says his players can still take confidence from the manner of our performance at Doncaster.

Steve Davis believes that despite the disappointment of losing in dramatic circumstances at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, aspects of the performance and the creativity in the final third of the pitch will give his side great confidence going into the Christmas period.

We then travel to Rochdale on Boxing Day before facing Shrewsbury at home a couple of days later.  Crewe face Fleetwood at Gresty Road on Saturday aiming to bounce back from that 3-2 defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Davis is targeting a productive December to follow on from back-to-back wins against Colchester and Oldham.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “The defeat hurt us all but we have got a chance to put it right on Saturday. If are going to lose games because of the nature of the league. It is a tough league but we gain confidence from the way we played on Saturday. We scored two terrific goals and we also created some other good opening in the final third.

“It would have been a boost to have held on and to have moved out of the bottom four but we didn’t. We knew where we could have been in the table and it is still very tight so the incentive is there for us.

bottom in the league and if we can get another couple of wins over Christmas then that would give us a massive boost going forward. We are capable of mini-run and when you suffer a defeat it is all about how you bounce back.th/8th“It is all tight right up to 7

He added: “We have some good games coming up against clubs that are in and around us, so the players know they have to move on quickly and our focus now will be Fleetwood then Rochdale then Shrewsbury. We won’t be dwelling too much on what happened at Doncaster. “
