Steve Davis says the arrival of Lowe is seeing the best of Marcus Haber.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis believes that every team likes the option of having a bigger striker within the confines of their squad. Despite having a number of International call-ups for Canada,Steve Davis has continued to select Marcus Haber whenever he is available and he says that the Alex number 9 plays a pivotal role in his tactical formation.
Haber has scored three goals this season but has also provided assists for other important goals, including most recently for Ryan Colclough away at Colchester.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Every team needs a big striker in their squad. The majority of clubs try to have that bigger one as an option. There are not that many who don’t have one in the squad.
“You have to play to their strengths and perhaps we haven’t been able to do that with Marcus all of the time this season. He is certainly benefitting from having someone up there with him.
“Ryan (Lowe) is helping him and Marcus is keeping it up there for us. Ryan’s remit was to see if he could get Marcus to be more mobile up there and he has done that. I think they have made a good partnership for us.
“Ryan’s experience and the runs he makes in behind do help Marcus and they have just got to keep it up.”
