Davis: "Time To Build Real Momentum"

Alex targets positive Christmas return of points.

Steve Davis is looking for his Crewe Alexandra side to build some real momentum as we head into 2016. The Alex travel to Doncaster this weekend after securing back-to-back victories for the first time this season and he is a targeting a healthy return of points as we begin to enter the busy festive period.

With Crewe back in action after not being involved in the FA Cup last weekend, the boss told the club’s official web-site: “It has been a couple of weeks since the Oldham game and it has been a long wait. It has gone quite slowly but the players have worked hard and had their rest days as well. They are just looking forward to getting back out on the pitch.

“The games will come thick and fast now and it can make a massive difference to the season if you can build some real momentum over Christmas and go into the New Year into a real positive frame of mind.

“The games over Christmas can be crucial especially with the Boxing Day fixture and the Shrewsbury game coming two days later. The six points available in that short of time can really set you up to finish the year on a high.

He added: “It is an important time and we have a few of our injured players coming back, so the squad is improving and I’m sure we need most of them with the Christmas fixtures. “
