The former Barnsley defender takes his Alex side to Doncaster tomorrow aiming to secure a third successive win in League One following wins over Colchester and Oldham.
The Crewe boss says he always likes taking a team to the impressive Keepmoat Stadium.
“Doncaster have had a spell in the Championship and with that comes expectation. There will be a section of their fans expecting that and they are a big club for this league ‘says Steve.
“It is always a nice Stadium to play football and I always enjoy taking a team to Yorkshire because the supporters are passionate people. They adore their football and adore their club and it plays a big part in their lives.
“They will be craving success there under Darren (Ferguson) and our players will be relishing the chance to go there and show what they can do as well. It should be a good game and we have played most teams now and we know that on our day we can compete against anyone.”
