Steve Davis says he is prepared to take risks to take us out of the bottom four.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says that Saturday’s draw against Fleetwood Town could prove to be a good one after Steven Pressley’s side created the better of the chances in the second half at Gresty Road.
The Alex boss was disappointed with our second half showing against Fleetwood but he admits that he was pleased we managed to secure a point in the end, as the visitors looked the more likely side to go on and win the game.
Following the 1-1 draw with the Cod Army, Steve told us: “We want to be winning games like this one but it could prove to be a good point because we didn’t play as well as we have been in the second half. Maybe there was some nervousness after what happened at Doncaster but we didn’t create too many chances in that second half.
“We know that draws are not going to get us out of the bottom four. Only wins will do that and defeats definitely won’t. We try and win every game and there is bound to be times that we will push on and take risks to win them and end up losing the game. That can happen and it has happened to us this season against the likes of Swindon and Gillingham.
“We always try to be positive and go for it. When you do that then gaps can occur. It is about trying to get the balance right and make sure we get the points we need to get out of the bottom and then push on to make sure we stay out of it.”
