Steve to check on injuries to Semi and Jonah.

Steve Davis will have to assess injuries to Semi Ajayi and James Jones ahead of this weekend’s home game against Fleetwood Town. Both players were forced out of training earlier in the week but the Alex boss says he will give them as long as possible to declare themselves fit to play.

The on-loan Ajayi suffered a slight back problem during Tuesday’s session while midfielder Jones received a knock on his ankle. The Academy graduate is training today but David Fox is poised to take his place if the Scotland Youth International is unable to play.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Semi and Jonah are doubtful for the weekend. They both had to withdraw from training on Tuesday, so that wasn’t a great day for us but we are hoping that it isn’t too bad.

“Jonah will train today with some strapping on, so if he can get through that then we will see. There are players ready to come in if they don’t make it and that is the benefit of having a stronger squad to choose from now.”
