Boss On Ferguson's Doncaster

Steve says Rovers will be a different proposition under Darren Ferguson.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says Doncaster Rovers will be a different proposition under their relatively new manager Darren Ferguson. Ferguson, the former Peterborough and Preston manager succeeded Paul Dickov at the Keepmoat Stadium in October after Rob Jones had filled in on a temporary basis for a month.

Ferguson’s arrival in Yorkshire has certainly seen an upsurge in results. They have lost just four times in 11 games, and in the process have won six of those games to take them to mid-table and away from the bottom four.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Doncaster have found it difficult to adjust to the league since they came down from the Championship. It is a tough league and it has been the same with Sheffield United. They have found it difficult to get out of as well.

“Doncaster are a big club for this level and have a new manager in Darren, who has got them looking upwards again. He is beginning to stamp his own authority on the club and I’m sure he will be a success there.

“They will be a different proposition under Darren and it will be a challenge for us but one we look forward to.

He added: “It is another chance for us to show what we can do. We have done well in the past there and picked up some good results, so we will go there looking to be successful again.”
