Ajayi Wants To Do Well For The Club

3 December 2015

Boss praise for new loan signings desire to help Crewe out of the bottom places.

Steve Davis is pleased that he was given the backing to bring in the experienced Ryan Lowe and the Cardiff City defender Semi Ajayi on loan before last week’s deadline. The Alex boss and his staff had to work quickly after George Ray joined captain Harry Davis in the treatment room after he broke his ankle at Colchester.

Ajayi has joined on a one-month loan as Davis recovers from his knee injury.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We were delighted to get Semi in. It was difficult because no-one particularly wants to loan their players out when Christmas and New Year is coming up. There are a lot of games coming up in a short space of time, so you have to try and utilise your squad if you can.

“We had one day of training with him but did some organisational work with him and the fact that he had played with Ben before at Cardiff helped that.

“The good thing about Semi was that he was really keen to come here and play. He has come here and wants to do well for himself and the football club. He is quiet but has settled in well and he is a good lad.

“He did well on his debut and helped us get a clean-sheet so hopefully he can continue in that same vein of form.”
