Boss on Coventry's instant hero Adam Armstrong
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has praised the impact that Coventry’s young forward Adam Armstrong has made since signing on loan from Newcastle United. Armstrong has scored four league goals already, which included a superb brace on the opening day of the season against Wigan and then another two away at Millwall last weekend.
Armstrong, 18, is certainly one to watch for the Alex defence this evening and boss Davis says he is a player we have kept tabs on due to his form in the Under-21 league.
Steve said of the teenager: “Adam is a talented young boy and we have watched him on a few occasions in the Under-21s.
“He is one of those players who is ready to make that step up and go out and play competitive football. He has certainly made an instant impact with the goals he has scored. He is a finisher and has played for England at youth level over the last few years.
“We has some real quality and skill and he will be one we will have to watch closely.”
