Midfield Will Soon Gel

11 August 2015

Boss says his midfield three will need some time to adjust to their new surroundings.

Steve Davis says that his new-look midfield will take a bit of time to adjust to their new surroundings but he has every confidence that the summer signings will soon gel.

David Fox, Billy Bingham and loanee Adam King all made their debuts in the goalless draw with Port Vale at the weekend.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Some players need time to settle down and get used to things and others can fit in right away. I am sure the midfield players will soon get to know each others game and adjust to life in League One.

“Adam found his first game difficult. He hasn’t played in a derby game like that before but I thought he showed a great attitude and some character to continue to try and do the right things. He wanted to get on the ball and he ran around and did his defensive work.

“Billy worked hard and when you watch the game back, he made a number of runs into the opposition box. He showed some quality in possession and will improve.

“Foxy was fine and probably the pick of the three. He is sure to have an influence on the other players in the squad as the season progresses.”
