Inman Can Be A Match Winner

21 August 2015

Boss hopes keeping faith in Aussie winner will continue to pay off.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is hoping that the faith he has shown with his potential match winner Brad Inman will continue to be repaid with consistent performances.

The former Newcastle United youngster has arguably been the club’s best performer in our last two away matches at Scunthorpe and Coventry City. The likeable Aussie opened his goalscoring account with a stunning solo goal at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday evening and he has become a threat in the final third after having a very good pre-season for the club.

Steve has been pleased with the start that the wide man has made to the new season and he has challenged him to carry that consistency forward for the rest of the campaign.

The 23-year-old is now closing in on making 100 appearances for the club after initially signing on loan in November 2012.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Brad had a strong pre-season and he worked hard to get himself fitter and stronger.

“He is a confidence player and hopefully the terrific goal he scored on Tuesday night will give him even more because on his day he can be a real game changer for us.

“He knows he has keep on improving his performances and work on things defensively but he has been taking things on board and has been better in that.

“We know the ability he has. He scores goal like the one he scored at Coventry all the time in training, so I was pleased that he was able to transfer that into a game.

He added: “I think by me sticking with him has helped him. I stuck with him throughout the season and he deserved to start the season in the team. He knows he has to play consistently well and produce what we need from him to stay in the team. We know he can do it.”
