Football Club delighted to announce renewal of stand sponsorship with Whitby Morrison.

Crewe Alexandra Football Club are delighted to announce the renewal of our sponsorship initiative with local business Whitby Morrison.

 The agreement will see the away end continue as the Ice Cream Van Stand – now famous within football circles – as well as several additional initiatives from pitch side hoarding to supporting the children’s Christmas party with an Ice Cream Van!

A great example of two great organisations working together.

Based on the nearby Crewe Gates Estate, they manufacture in excess of 150 Ice Cream Vans annually, exporting them all over the world – including locations as diverse as Libya, Malaysia and Kyrgysztan. Whitby Morrison were established in 1962 by Bryan Whitby and are now a third-generation family business.

We both share the same business principles and values as well as recognising the importance of supporting the local community’. Bryan’s grandson Ed Whitby said, ‘We are incredibly proud to continue our relationship with Crewe Alexandra.

Today, we have many employees who joined us at 16 and remain with us 20, 30 and even 40 years later!’ Whitby Morrison do indeed operate in a similar way to ourselves through their Apprenticeship Programme, Ed added, ‘Just like the football club, we look to take on local youngsters and train them up to become skilled craftsmen and valuable assets to our business.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, we will bring you regular updates from Whitby Morrison including employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
