Steve Davis says new loan signings will only increase the competition in his squad.
Steve Davis says that the acquisition of Stephen Kingsley and Harry Wilson will only increase the competition in the Crewe Alexandra squad. The Crewe boss says that his summer recruitment has now been concluded with the signing of one of his first choice left-backs and the highly promising Liverpool forward.
Both young players are expected to be named in the squad that travels to Wigan this weekend.
Steve told crewealex.net: “I am pleased to have added a couple more players to the squad because I felt that we needed to. We have been working with 18 players and there is James Jones and Harry Davis to add to that.
“I felt we needed a couple more to add to the competition and we now have cover for every position. They are two very good players to add to the squad and they have great attitudes. They are two young players who wanted to come out and play competitive football but they want to do well for the Football Club and impress.
He added: “They will be involved in the squad at Wigan and with them coming here will give me some selection headaches but that is what I wanted to create.”
