Boss prepares to be without his target man for the visit of Swindon on 5th September.
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that it will be a blow to lose Marcus Haber for the visit of Swindon Town on Saturday 5th September. Haber has been called up for Canada’s World Cup qualifier on the International weekend and won’t be available to lead the line for the Railwaymen.
The Crewe Alexandra boss admits that it is something he has had to become accustomed to since signing the towering striker from Stevenage two summers ago.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is always a blow to lose a 6’3” centre forward because of the way we have been playing, but we have to accept it. It is frustrating for us but an obvious honour for Marcus to play for his country.
“It is a hole we have to fill and it will give someone else a chance to stake their claim. We may have to play a little bit differently but I am not against that. Marcus is the only real big striker we have.
Steve added: “It is a loss to us but I feel we have the players to fill that gap, although we will have to play in a different way."
