Thanks To Heart Valve Voice Charity

21 April 2015

Our thanks to our friends from Heart Valve Charity for screening success

Further information can be found at crewealex.net. For information on heart valve disease and the charity visit heartvalvevoice.co.uk.

Heart valve disease is an age-related illness and represents a significant challenge in the UK. Approximately one million people over the age of 60 are thought to be affected by heart valve disease and over half of patients with untreated severe symptomatic heart valve disease die within two years.

The heart screenings is something we will look to repeat in the future for our supporters and the club would like to thank everyone from the charity for the success is testing close to 40 supporters in three hours.

All available slots were filled relatively quickly and we thank all those supporters who signed up for the screenings with the local GP's and trained healthcare professionals.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to thank the Heart Valve Voice Charity team for organising the screening event which took place in the club’s Alexandra Suite ahead of kick-off against Walsall. Crewe Alexandra’s Academy Manager Dario Gradi is a heart valve disease patient and a Heart Valve Voice faculty member and campaigner. Dario was keen for our senior citizens to have the chance to undergo a free and efficient heart scan that may possibly save lives.
