Steve: "Players Have To Embrace Challenge"

24 April 2015

Boss says united squad are capable of seeing the job through to the end.

Steve Davis wants his players to embrace the challenge of trying to get enough points to remain in Sky Bet League One. With two games remaining of the season, the Railwaymen still need points to be certain of remaining at this level.

The Railwaymen travel to Coventry City this weekend looking to secure a win that would result in Leyton Orient, Colchester United and Notts County having to win both of their remaining games to contemplate catching us. It remains extremely tight at the bottom of League One with Coventry still needing a point themselves to be sure of survival.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is still very tight at the bottom and that is happening over all leagues as there is not much between the teams.

“The players have to try and embrace the challenge and rise to the occasion. They have to try and enjoy it and try and produce another one of our consistent away displays.

“We have played away this season and not got anything to show for our efforts. We have also played well and had some fantastic results.

“We have done it before this season and risen to the challenge. From our end, we have got to look after ourselves and perform to a level to see get something from a tough game.

He added: “Everyone is really together and positive about what we need to do.”
