Steve: "Focus Is On Ourselves"

23 April 2015

Alex boss pleased that our fate remains in our own hands after mid-week fixtures

Steve Davis says it is imperative that his side continues to think only about what we need to do to survive in League One. The Alex were handed a mid-week boost with both Leyton Orient and Notts County unable to take advantage of their game in hand.

Those results mean that our destiny remains in our own hands and ahead of this weekend’s trip to Coventry City, the Alex boss said: “Our approach to the final two games has not changed. We will be going out to try and win both games.

“At this time of the season, you do look at how other teams down there with you are getting on and who they have to play. The players and staff always do that after our game, looking how our rivals have got on and what that means to the league table.

The boss added: “The only thing we can control is our result and that is what we are focussed on. We know we have to win one of our remaining two games at least to put that added pressure on the teams below us and just above us. It is still very tight but still in our hands.”
