Steve: "A Game Of Two Halves"

14 April 2015

Boss gives us his reaction from the Abax Stadium after 1-1 draw

"It was a well worked goal from us. It was lovely chip from Nicky and Lauri had a soft touch and it was a fine finish. He pulled it down and drove it into the bottom corner. We had our chances to get that second half when we were on top but we couldn't repeat the way we played in that second half. We have done that a few times this season where we have played well in one half but not combined them together."

"We knew they would come out at second half and have a real go at home. We knew they would improve and we had to defend for long periods in that second period. We had some little breaks but couldn't take advantage of that on the counter attack.

"At 1-0 it is never enough. At 2-0 it is sometimes not enough for us. It was a question of how many we would score first half and then how many they were going to score in the second. It would have been brilliant if we had managed to hold onto the three points but it is a good point to come here and get something. I was pleased with them, especially in that first half.

Following the 1-1 draw, the boss told crewealex.net: "It was a game of two halves. We dominated the first half and had some good chances and they did the same to us in the second half. It ended 1-1 in the end and in truth it could have been 4-4. I was very pleased with the first half performance, we were excellent but we couldn't find that second goal.

. Steve Davis was pleased with a point after his Crewe team had the better of the first half and then Peterborough took the game to us in the second. A point was a fair result over the 90 minutes and the Alex boss was pleased with his side's first half display and their grit and determination in the second period
