Alex keeper says it is imperative we concentrate on what we need to do
Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Paul Rachubka has told Crewe Alex Player that our fate remains very much in our own hands. The former Manchester United, Leeds and Blackpool stopper believes it is vital that the Alex dressing room remain firmly focussed on what we need to do to make sure we are safe come May 3rd.
Rachubka admits that points are paramount at this stage of the season and are even more vital this weekend with Leyton Orient down there with us and locked on 46 points.
The club’s number one goalkeeper, who has kept three clean sheets for us since signing on a short-term deal in February told Crewe Alex Player: “Looking at it there are five key games, five cup finals left for everyone involved.
“Points are imperative and we need to get them as quickly as we possibly can and hopefully if we can, it will take the pressure off and we can enjoy the last couple of games of the season.
“We have to concentrate on what we need to and play positively. We have shown that on our day we can compete against some of the best teams in this league and there is no reason why we cannot do that again against Leyton Orient this weekend.
“We are locked on the same number of points but it is still very much in our own hands. The teams down there are all playing under pressure as well. It is not just on us and we have got to focus on doing the right things and making sure we get the points that mean we will be safe. Everyone is working hard towards that.”
