Steve Davis believes there will still be something riding on final day
Steve Davis still believes that our League One status may be decided on the final day of the season, similarly to last season when his Crewe Alexandra side needed to defeat Preston North End to make sure they remained in the league. Crewe won 2-1 and dramatically survived.
The Alex boss predicts that there will be plenty of twists and turns still left in this season, but he says his players will be ready for a nail biting finish after going through the same experience last season.
Ahead of this weekend’s vital trip to Coventry, the upbeat Alex boss said: “I still think it will go right to the wire, to that final game of the season.
“If that is the case then we can draw of the experience of what we went through last season. I’m sure there it will change again at the weekend and the picture may become clearer but there may be something riding on that last game.
He added: “After the start we made to the season and winning only one of our first 11 games, I’m sure we would taken going into the final game with our destiny still in our own hands. We are prepared for it.”
