LDV: "Point Sets Us Up For Walsall"

16 April 2015

Lauri Dalla Valle says spirit and quality shown in the first half at Peterborough has increased confidence

Lauri Dalle Valle says that Tuesday night’s hard working point at Peterborough has set us nicely for this weekend’s crucial home game against Walsall. The Alex have three matches remaining and will need to win at least one, maybe two of those matches to have a realistic chance of remaining in League One.

Dalla Valle opened the scoring at the Abax Stadium with a well taken early finish but Peterborough came out and upped their performance in the second half and deservedly drew level through Conor Washington.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Saddlers, LDV told us: “I thought it was a very good point.

“Obviously we always aim for three but we are happy at keep picking up points in the situation we’re in.

“The match was two very different halves, we were on top in the first half and they were on top in the second, so I think it’s a fair point for each team.

“I think we were excellent first half in what we did with and without the ball and it was just a matter of can we produce it for the 90 minutes.

“I think if we had produced that performance for 90 minutes then we would have come away with three points.

He added: “Away from home if you can score first it gives the team extra energy and it’s just a matter of keepinga clean sheet or keeping another one.”
