International Round-Up

1 April 2015

Jones and Haber feature heavily for national associations

It's been a busy period of international action and Crewe Alexandra's James Jones and Marcus Haber have been part of the fold.

Haber jetted to North America last week to play for Canada, and started both of their senior friendlies as they defeated Guatemala and Puerto Rico respectively.

He played 81 minutes of the 1-0 victory over Guatemala on Friday, and scored the only goal of the game in the 11th minute with a bullet header from a corner. Haber also featured for 65 minutes on Monday in the 3-0 victory in Puerto Rico.

Jones traveled to Austria with Scotland U19 for their Elite Group round-robin in the Euro Championships and played 90 minutes in all three games.

Despite beating the hosts 2-1 in their opening game last Thursday and then drawing 0-0 and 1-1 with Italy on Saturday and Croatia on Tuesday respectively, the Scots missed out on top-spot in the group after Austria recovered from their opening defeat to run out victors against both the Italians and Croats to top the group on six points.

Haber and Jones will both return to the Club tomorrow.
