Harry Davis previews Walsall clash

Crewe Alexandra captain Harry Davis believes there have been plenty of positives to take from our recent battling performances. The Alex have had to dig in and hold out to collect valuable points against Leyton Orient last weekend and then again at Peterborough on Tuesday night.

The club’s Finnish striker Lauri Dalla Valle has provided us with a dream start in both games by netting an early opener and the first 45 minutes have been really positive, but we have struggled to sustain that over the course of 90 minutes.

place on 54 points. thNext up for the Alex is another tough home game against Walsall. Dean Smith’s Saddlers enjoyed an emphatic 5-0 win over Crawley in mid-week to virtually secure their League One status. They now lie in 15

Ahead of the game, Harry told the club’s official web-site: “We managed to get another point on Tuesday and that was a real positive to take away from there after our first half performance. I thought we were very good first half and could have scored more goals.

“They improved in the second half and we couldn’t produce as many chances as we did, but we showed a real resilience to get a point. Now we are looking for a complete performance where we play at a high level over 90 minutes.

“There are still a lot of clubs involved in and we have got to concentrate on ourselves and make sure we go into the game with a positive frame of mind. We have to go on the front foot because there is no point sitting back.

He added: “If we can get a clean sheet and take our chances when they come around then there is no reason why we cannot get that win we need. Three points would be massive for us.”
