Boss Targets 'Massive Three Points'

22 April 2015

Steve says his team will go to Coventry and try and get on the front foot.

Steve Davis is targeting a ‘massive three points’ at Coventry City this season. The Alex boss believes that a timely result at the Ricoh Arena would allow us to keep at least one foot in League One next season.

Crewe need at least one win from our remaining two matches of the 2014/15 season against Coventry and Bradford City to at least give us a chance of remaining in the division and Davis is hoping that cushion comes on Saturday.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Ricoh Arena, Steve told crewealex.net: “The three points would be massive for us, like they have been for a few weeks now.

“If we could go to Coventry and secure that win then it should only give us that belief and confidence to finish the job off on the final day of the season against Bradford.

“We haven’t managed to kick on following that win at Sheffield United but we are now unbeaten in three and have lost one in six, but we could do with at least one win from the last two games.

“Coventry is the priority and we will be going there to win the game. Everyone wants to play in this division and some of them possibly higher in the future, so it is up to us. We don’t want to drop back into league two and I don’t need to sit the players down and tell them the importance of these last two games. They know.

Steve added: “A win would still not probably make us safe because it is that tight but it would be a massive step for us. I am sure there are five or six managers saying the same thing and all we can do is concentrate on ourselves and hope some results go for us as well.”
