Waters: We Need To Find Consistent Level

4 September 2014

Waters believes that we need the majority of players on top of their game to turn season around

Billy Waters has told the club’s official web-site that we need more players playing at the top of their games if we are going to get our season going. Crewe have performed reasonably well in most games, but have no league points to show for their efforts.

They took Championship side Bolton Wanderers into extra-time, but still ended up exiting the Capital One Cup at the second round stage and Waters says that if the team can find some level of consistency then our season can turn around quite quickly.

September, the local lad told crewealex.net: “In the League Cup when we played Barnsley away and then Bolton at home we’ve performed well and done well both times. We’ve got to take those type of performances and emulate that and do well against League One sides in the league matches.thAhead of our local derby with Port Vale on 13

“We’ve got to have eight or nine of our players on top of their game every match to be a success. If that happens then you become so much better and it’s so much easier for you because you all work off each other – that happened against Bolton. Brad scored the goal and we were then terrific for a spell and probably should’ve been more than 1-0 up in the first 20 minutes.

“Port Vale is a huge game for the fans. It means a lot to us too because there are so many academy boys in the squad, we’ve grown up at Crewe and we know how important this game is. There are 46 games in a season and not just the two against them, but they are great opportunities for us to build confidence and fan support.”
